Motion Graphics Phoenix Group

1st Meeting

Out first meeting was a great success.  We had almost 20 people turn out for a discussion on film title sequences. there was a great mix of people at all levels from beginners to students to seasoned professionals.  Justin Katz from Flock of Pixels gave a brief introduction on various techniques, narratives, and theories used in title sequences  Then Niki Petta from Copper Post revealed a wonderfully detailed project breakdown of her titles for the film "Blood Into Wine" revealing not only her creative process behind the sequence but what inspired her.  She also provided details about working with directors and creative pitfalls encountered along the way.  Rob Beadle and Bill Garmen from Copper Post helped out tremendously and offered advice and knowledge on client/vendor relationships, budgeting, technical issues and when/how to say no.  Drinks were enjoyed afterwards at the local Roosevelt Tavern.

If you would like to speak or present or have a topic or project to share please let us know via Motion Exchange Twitter Email or Reply to this post. Our next meeting is scheduled for mid January.
